Seahorse+ toddler swim lessons

Seahorse+ is a big and exciting step forward, where your toddler learns to swim without caregiver participation in the pool. Our highly trained and certified instructors take over in the water, helping your little one feel safe and supported.

It's a gentle transition, with small groups and a steady routine that supports kids as they build confidence and new skills, one “I DID IT!” moment at a time.

Swim lessons for 2 year olds and 3 year olds

Seahorse+ is made for toddlers ages 2 to 3; kids who are ready to learn with an instructor while you watch from the poolside. To register, your toddler should be at least 2 years old by the first class.

If you've been searching for toddler swim lessons or kids swimming lessons for 3 year olds, Seahorse+ is a great fit for this age.

What your little one will learn

Seahorse+ focuses on foundational swim skills that help toddlers feel calm, capable, and in control in the water. Depending on their comfort level, your little one will practice:

  • Getting in and out of the water safely
  • Putting their face in the water
  • Blowing bubbles and learning breath control
  • Kicking and moving through the water
  • Floating and gliding with support as needed

These skills are taught through easy repetition, games and songs, and lots of encouragement, so progress feels steady, not overwhelming.

Our instructor was so engaged with the babies and always made us feel comfortable in the water. We can't wait for more.

We wanted as much exposure for our 4.5 month old newborn in the water and Emma was absolutely fantastic with her! Would recommend to our friends in the future.

FAQs

What is the ideal age for toddler swim lessons?

+
  • A great time to start toddler swim lessons is between 2 and 3 years old, when kids are ready to follow simple directions and try skills more independently.

Can I teach a 2 year old to swim?

+
  • You can help your toddler get comfortable in the water, but lessons give them structured practice with a certified instructor guiding each step safely.

Is swimming good for a 2 year old?

+
  • Absolutely! Swimming builds confidence, coordination, and comfort in new environments. It's also a great way to support physical and mental growth through movement and routine.

How many swim lessons does a 3 year old need?

+
  • There’s no set number, but consistency makes the biggest difference. Regular lessons help your 3–year–old build comfort and skills faster over time.

What’s the difference between Seahorse and Seahorse+?

+
  • Seahorse is one of our parent and toddler swim levels, while Seahorse+ is the next step, where kids learn with the instructor without a parent in the water.

What if my kid is nervous without me in the pool?

+
  • That's common, but learning to swim is a great way to build confidence and overcome fear. Instructors support the transition gently, and small groups help kids feel safe and encouraged.
