Our Parent & Tot soccer classes

Explorers is a playful first step into soccer for 2 year olds. With each kid getting their own ball and parent participation, your little one can explore the field while our pro coaches lead the group.

These 45-minute kids soccer lessons use songs, stories, games, and simple soccer activities to help toddlers build comfort, coordination, and confidence, one small “I DID IT!” moment at a time.

What a Pedalheads toddler soccer class looks like

Our play-based soccer classes follow a simple flow, with pro coaches leading each activity and parents helping 2 year olds feel ready to join in.

A typical Parent & Tot soccer lesson may include:

  • A warm welcome and simple warm-up

  • A song or story-based activity

  • A movement game with Ziggy, the friendly character on each soccer ball

  • A simple ball-control activity

  • A group adventure or challenge

  • A celebration where we put our hands in and shout “WE LOVE SOCCER!”

This familiar routine helps little ones settle in, try new skills, and build confidence from one class to the next.

What your little one will learn

Explorers helps 2 year olds build early movement skills while getting comfortable with a soccer ball. It’s about helping kids feel ready to move, listen, join in and try something new.

  • Moving around the field

  • Following simple pro-coach-led activities

  • Building balance, coordination, and body awareness

  • Getting comfortable with the ball at their feet

  • Learning how to participate in a group setting

  • Building confidence one step at a time

The importance of parent participation

Parent participation is an important part of Explorers because 2 year olds often feel more ready to try something new when you’re nearby.

During the first few weeks, you’ll join your toddler while our pro coaches lead the activities. As little soccer stars become more familiar with the flow of class, they can gradually build their comfort level toward independent participation.

What comes after Explorers?

Explorers is the first step in the Pedalheads Soccer journey. When your little one is ready, they can move into Zoomies, our preschool soccer lessons for 3 or 4-year-olds.

Zoomies introduces more independent soccer movement, ball control, dribbling, teamwork, stories, and songs, while keeping the same encouraging, play-based approach.

Explorers is the right soccer class for kids to build a steady foundation, so moving forward feels like the next chapter in their adventure!

My daughter is usually very shy and nervous. However, within a couple of weeks I've watched her confidence grow as she made friends and actively took part in classes. Now soccer class is her favourite time of the week!
